AvailableWe meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul New Airport three hours before departure. After baggage, ticketing and boarding procedures, we begin our flight to Tunis on a scheduled Turkish Airlines service. Upon arrival at Tunis Airport, we board our private coach waiting at the airport and set off on our city tour. Sights include Bourguiba Avenue, where you will feel as though you are in France; the Cathedral of St. Vincent de Paul, built in the 19th century; the statue of Ibn Khaldun, one of the renowned Arab scholars of the Middle Ages; and the clock tower, considered a symbol of Tunis. We then depart for our Nabeul tour. As we stroll through the atmospheric streets of Nabeul, the capital of ceramics and pottery, we will see many items typical of Tunisia, including copperware, leather goods, embroidery and cradles. We then head to Hammamet, nicknamed Tunisia's Saint-Tropez, built on the coast with rooftop terraces offering magnificent views. In Hammamet, sights include long, clean beaches and azure waters, as well as beautiful parks, lush gardens, fortress walls, streets and the Great Mosque, which has preserved the city's rich history. After the tour, we transfer to the hotel and enjoy free time to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our Kairouan & El Jem & Monastir tour. We head to Kairouan, our first stop. We will visit the Great Mosque of Uqba ibn Nafi, considered the ancestor of all mosques in the Maghreb and one of the most important Islamic monuments. This architectural masterpiece of universal significance is also classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also visit the Aghlabid Basins and, finally, the mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi. We then depart for El Jem. Its amphitheatre is one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world. Built in the middle of the third century AD (AD 230-240), this monumental amphitheatre is the largest surviving Roman monument in Africa and ranks third in the Empire after those in Rome and Verona. One of the last great amphitheatres built during the Roman period, its architectural design is an enhanced version of the Colosseum in Rome. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel for free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our Tunis & Carthage & Bardo Museum tour. We begin by setting off to explore the ancient city of Carthage. In this ancient city, founded by the Phoenicians and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will follow in the footsteps of the famous Carthaginian commander Hannibal and discover 3.000 years of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader remains. Home to numerous ancient structures and ruins, Carthage reflects its rich history through its thermal baths, temples and city walls. Our tour then continues with a visit to the Bardo Museum. The museum houses an extensive collection of artefacts, with particularly remarkable Roman mosaics. With their intricate designs and vibrant colours, each mosaic tells a unique story from Tunisia's diverse past. We then head to the historic Medina district of Tunis. We explore the Medina of Tunis, also known as Old Tunis, with its narrow streets and bazaar filled with souvenir shops. We will visit Souk El Attarine, a famous market in the historic centre of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. "Souk" means "market" or "bazaar" in Arabic, while "El Attarine" means "perfumers" or "spice merchants". Here, you can shop at your leisure. Other sights include Place de la Kasbah (Historic Tunis Square) and the Zitouna Mosque. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel for free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out of our rooms. We then depart for our Sidi Bou Said tour. We head to Sidi Bou Said, with its blue-and-white houses, narrow streets and breathtaking views, surrounded by the blue waters of the Mediterranean. You will stroll through the charming streets of Sidi Bou Said, also known as Tunisia's Santorini, and have the opportunity to take wonderful photographs. After our tour, we transfer to Tunis Airport at the time announced by our guide.
After baggage, ticketing and boarding procedures, we begin our flight to Istanbul on a scheduled Turkish Airlines service. Following a comfortable and relaxing flight, we arrive in Istanbul, marking the end of our tour.
