FullWe meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul New Airport three hours before departure. After completing baggage, ticketing and boarding procedures, we depart for Tunis on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight. Upon arrival at Tunis Airport, we board our private coach waiting at the airport and begin our city tour. Sights include Bourguiba Avenue, where you will feel as though you are in France; the Cathedral of St Vincent de Paul, dating back to the 19th century; the statue of Ibn Khaldun, one of the renowned Arab scholars of the Middle Ages; and the clock tower, considered a symbol of Tunis. We then depart for Sidi Bou Said, one of Tunisia’s most beautiful coastal towns. Overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean, this charming town is one of Tunisia’s most distinctive destinations, with its whitewashed houses, blue doors and windows, bougainvillea and narrow streets. During our walk through Sidi Bou Said, we discover its distinctive architecture and enjoy magnificent views of the Mediterranean. After photo stops and free time, we depart for our Nabeul tour. We then depart for our Nabeul tour. As we stroll through the atmospheric streets of Nabeul, the capital of ceramics and pottery, we will see many traditional Tunisian items, including copperware, leather goods, embroidery and cradles. We then head to Hammamet, nicknamed Tunisia’s Saint-Tropez, built along the coast with rooftop terraces offering magnificent views. In addition to its long, clean beaches and azure sea, sights in Hammamet include magnificent parks, lavish gardens, fortress walls, streets and the Great Mosque, which has preserved the city’s rich history. After our tour, we transfer to the hotel and enjoy free time to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our Kairouan & El Jem & Monastir tour. We head to Kairouan, our first stop. We will visit the Great Mosque of Uqba ibn Nafi, considered the ancestor of all mosques in the Maghreb and one of the most important Islamic monuments. This architectural masterpiece of universal significance is also classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also visit the Aghlabid Basins and, finally, the mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi. We then depart for El Jem. Its amphitheatre is one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world. Built in the middle of the third century AD (AD 230-240), this monumental amphitheatre is the largest surviving Roman monument in Africa and ranks third in the Empire after those in Rome and Verona. One of the last great amphitheatres built during the Roman period, its architectural design is an enhanced version of the Colosseum in Rome. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel for free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our Carthage & Bardo Museum tour. We begin by setting out to explore the ancient city of Carthage. Founded by the Phoenicians and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient city invites us to follow in the footsteps of the famous Carthaginian commander Hannibal as we explore 3.000 years of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader remains. Home to numerous ancient structures and ruins, Carthage reflects its rich history through its thermal baths, temples and city walls. Our tour then continues with a visit to the Bardo Museum. The museum houses an extensive collection of artefacts, with its Roman mosaics being particularly remarkable. With their intricate designs and vivid colours, each mosaic tells a unique story from Tunisia’s diverse past. We then head to the historic Medina district of Tunis. We explore the Medina of Tunis, also known as Old Tunis, with its narrow streets and bazaar filled with souvenir shops. We will visit Souk El Attarine, a famous market in the historic centre of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. "Souk" means "market" or "bazaar" in Arabic, while "El Attarine" means "perfumers" or "spice merchants". Here, you can shop at your leisure. Other sights include Place de la Kasbah (Historic Tunis Square) and the Zitouna Mosque. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel and enjoy free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out of our rooms. We then transfer to Tunis Airport at the time advised by our guide.
After baggage, ticketing and boarding procedures, we begin our flight to Istanbul on a scheduled Turkish Airlines service. Following a comfortable and relaxing flight, we arrive in Istanbul, marking the end of our tour.
