AvailableWe meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul New Airport three hours before departure. After baggage, ticketing and boarding procedures, we begin our flight to Tunis on a scheduled Turkish Airlines service. Upon arrival at Tunis Airport, we board our private coach waiting at the airport and begin exploring Tunisia’s rich history. Our first stop is El Jem Amphitheatre, which has survived from the Roman Empire and is one of North Africa’s most impressive ancient structures. Used for gladiatorial contests and various performances during Roman times, El Jem Amphitheatre is one of the region’s most important historic monuments, with its magnificent architecture and immense size. After visiting the amphitheatre, we head towards the Mediterranean coast. Later in the day, we travel to the Mahdia or Sousse area, where we will stay overnight. Transfer to the hotel and free time to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we head south through Tunisia. Our journey takes us to Djerba Island, considered one of the jewels of the Mediterranean. We begin our island tour in Djerba, one of Tunisia’s most distinctive regions, discovering its traditional architecture, whitewashed houses, local life and unique atmosphere. As we explore Djerba’s historical and cultural heritage, we enjoy a visit to its colourful markets and traditional neighbourhoods. At the end of the day, we transfer to the hotel for free time to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we leave Djerba and set off on an unforgettable journey towards Tunisia’s desert region. Our first stop is Matmata, famous for its distinctive underground homes. In this region shaped by Berber culture, we see troglodyte dwellings, remarkable examples of traditional life. Carved into rock and beneath the ground, these homes provide natural shelter from the region’s hot climate. After our visit to Matmata, we head to Douz, known as the gateway to the desert. In Douz, one of the main centres of the Tunisian Sahara, we experience the region’s desert atmosphere first-hand. We then continue to Tozeur amid the impressive landscapes of the Sahara. After our safari tour, we reach the Star Wars film set, stepping into a science-fiction universe in the middle of the desert. The mystical atmosphere of the Sahara Desert has created a unique world that brought the famous film’s iconic scenes to life. Offering film fans a sense of travelling through time, this set immerses you in the world of science fiction. After our tour, we transfer to our hotel and enjoy free time. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we leave Tozeur and head to Kairouan, one of Tunisia’s most important cities for history and culture. In addition to its historical significance within Tunisia, Kairouan is a major cultural centre of the Islamic world. During our city tour, we explore its historic character and traditional architecture. After seeing the Medina and the city’s main sights, we head to Sousse. Upon arrival in Sousse on the Mediterranean coast, we begin our city tour. Known for its historic medina, ramparts and traditional markets, the city offers an opportunity for a brief exploration and free time. After our visit, we head to Hammamet, one of Tunisia’s most popular coastal destinations. Upon arrival, we begin our city tour. Sights include the historic seaside Hammamet Medina, the walled old town and Hammamet Fortress. We enjoy a walk through the medina, known for its narrow, colourful streets, traditional whitewashed houses and Mediterranean views. We then see Hammamet’s waterfront to complete our city tour. After our visit, we transfer to the hotel and check into our rooms. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we head to Tunis, Tunisia’s capital. Today’s programme features a comprehensive city tour combining Tunisia’s history, culture and Mediterranean atmosphere. Our first stop is Carthage, one of the most important cities of the ancient world. Founded by the Phoenicians and transformed over time into a major centre of civilisation, Carthage offers ancient ruins and impressive views over the Mediterranean. We then visit the Bardo Museum, one of Tunisia’s cultural treasures. Displaying important artefacts from the Roman, Carthaginian and Islamic periods, the museum is particularly renowned for its mosaic collections. After our museum visit, we continue to the historic Tunis Medina. Its narrow streets, traditional markets, historic buildings and colourful atmosphere offer an insight into Tunisia’s cultural heritage through the ages. Here, we allow free time for shopping and independent exploration. The day’s final stop is Sidi Bou Said, one of Tunisia’s most distinctive and photogenic destinations. We enjoy a walk through this charming coastal town, famous for its blue-and-white architecture, bougainvillea, narrow streets and Mediterranean views. After taking in the panoramic views, we set off for Hammamet. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel to relax. Dinner and overnight accommodation at our hotel.
We check out of our rooms early in the morning, then transfer to Tunis Airport at the time advised by our guide.
